Safeguarding

Safeguarding
A place of safety for all
At Ss Austin & Gregory with St Anne, we aim to promote an environment where every member of our Parish family is welcomed and cared for through friendship, compassion and prayer. We are committed to safeguarding as an integral part of the life and ministry of the Church and therefore recognise that the welfare of children, young people and Adults at Risk is paramount. Our Parish Safeguarding Representatives (PSRs) ensure that all volunteers working with such groups, including Eucharistic Ministers visiting the sick, are suitable for the roles they carry out and are checked via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Supported by the Parish Priest and the Archdiocesan Safeguarding Office in Southwark, the representatives keep up to date with guidelines set by the Catholic Safeguarding Advisory Service (CSAS) and the National Catholic Safeguarding Commission (NCSC).
It is everyone’s responsibility to be aware of the need for safeguarding our community and to bring any concerns to the attention of either the Parish Safeguarding Representatives or the Parish Priest. You can contact the PSRs by speaking to us in person at the weekend Masses or via email at:
