Children's Ministry
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Children’s ministry is a broad term that encompasses a variety of ministerial programs and outreach activities that are targeted at young people. We often refer to children’s ministries as ‘Mini Vinnies’. At Ss. Austin & Gregory with St. Anne we believe children ministries help to encourage young people to know God’s Word, develop a relationship with Jesus Christ and become active in our church community.
To that end we minister to the children of our flock from birth and baptism, first confessions and communions through to confirmations. We believe that teaching today’s children is necessary in growing the body of Christ. Teaching young people in the church to grow in their relationship with the Lord can prepare them to serve Christ in all they do. As a result, this nurtures the congregation and allows the church to flourish.
Serving young people can not only prepare them to become future leaders but also allows them to contribute to the church in significant ways. These activities and responsibilities help develop the children of today into the well-balanced and rounded adults of the future.
All of our volunteers and those who work with our children are DBS-checked in accordance with best practices.
