THEIR BLESSINGS, OUR BLESSINGS TOO!

In the Book of Revelation, one of the elders explaining the great multitude that no one could number, says, ‘These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes’ (Rev 7:9, 13a, 14b-17)

Beloved people of God, all these benefits, favours and blessings, rewards given to the great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages… belong to us too. These and more are the things that God has for us also. Our Blessed Lord speaks of some of the things that he offers to the sheep that belong to him, the sheep of his flock. He says, ‘My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand…’ (cf. Jn 10:27-30). 

God is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever. May his grace, which is abundant for us continue to propel and motivate us. May his love urge us on always. May we strive through our yearning for the word of God, our love of him and of our neighbour, be among the number impossible to count. May God fill all of us with the joy of the gospel and with the Holy Spirit.
